The names of the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been unveiled, showcasing a diverse mix of iconic artists and musicians. Among the inductees in the performer category are British rockers Iron Maiden, the influential Joy Division/New Order, and beloved Manchester band Oasis. American rapper Wu-Tang Clan and the late vocal legend Luther Vandross will also be acknowledged for their groundbreaking work, marking their first time on the ballot for this prestigious accolade.
In addition to the performers, the Hall of Fame will honour several artists with the Early Influence Award. This year’s recipients include the legendary salsa singer Celia Cruz, Nigerian musical pioneer Fela Kuti, and hip-hop trailblazer Queen Latifah, alongside rapper MC Lyte and the classic country artist Gram Parsons.
The Musical Excellence Award will be presented to esteemed figures including Linda Creed, Rick Rubin, Arif Mardin, and Jimmy Miller. Additionally, television personality Ed Sullivan will be recognised with the Ahmet Ertegun Award, celebrating his lasting impact on music presentation and promotion.
John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is music’s highest honour. We look forward to celebrating these remarkable artists at this year’s ceremony—it’s going to be an unforgettable night.” The ceremony will later be broadcast in December on ABC and Disney+.
Eligibility for induction requires that an artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before the year of their nomination. This year’s list of inductees includes notable first-time nominees, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan. However, many of the other inductees have faced previous nominations in prior years, reflecting their enduring legacy in music.
The 2026 nominees comprised a total of 17 performers, including New Edition, Shakira, Pink, and Lauryn Hill, expanding the diversity and representation across various genres of music.
