Bruno Mars has been honoured in Las Vegas, a city he has called home for over a decade, amid the launch of his eagerly anticipated “The Romantic Tour.” On 10 April 2026, the acclaimed R&B artist was presented with a key to the city, coinciding with the declaration of the day as “Bruno Mars Day.”

The festivities began with a lively celebration that included a parade along the iconic Las Vegas Boulevard, followed by an official ceremony in Toshiba Plaza. Mars, known for hits like “Just the Way You Are,” was celebrated not only for his musical contributions but also for his deep-rooted connection to Las Vegas. This connection has seen him perform numerous shows in the city, culminating in a record-setting residency at Dolby Live.
The honour was presented by notable figures including Nevada’s Governor Joe Lombardo and Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson, highlighting the significance of the recognition. Mars was not only awarded the key to the city but was also the first recipient of a street renaming—Park Avenue is now officially “Bruno Mars Drive.” Other legendary performers such as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra have streets named in their honour.
Bill Hornbuckle, the CEO and President of MGM Resorts International, praised Mars’s electrifying performances that have drawn countless visitors to Las Vegas. “Bruno Mars isn’t just a global superstar—he’s become an integral part of Las Vegas,” Hornbuckle stated. He further emphasised how Mars has created unique and unforgettable experiences that resonate with the spirit of the city.
In addition to being honoured, Mars also made headlines by announcing a remarkable $1 million donation to the future Intermountain Health Nevada Children’s Hospital. This commitment is aimed at providing enhanced pediatric care and expanding access for families throughout the state, demonstrating Mars’s dedication to community wellbeing.
During the launch show for “The Romantic Tour,” Mars thrilled fans with an impressive 25-track setlist, featuring some of his biggest hits as well as a surprise performance by his Silk Sonic collaborator Anderson .Paak. The recently released album, “The Romantic,” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, marking another milestone in Mars’s illustrious career.
Mars’s concerts in Las Vegas have attracted enthusiastic crowds, with many considering his performances as quintessential “only in Vegas” experiences. The excitement surrounding the commencement of The Romantic Tour reflects his status as one of the most celebrated artists in contemporary music.
The tour is set to continue until 8 December 2026, culminating in four performances in Mexico City. As Mars embarks on this musical journey, his philanthropic efforts and contributions to Las Vegas firmly establish him as a cherished figure in the city’s cultural landscape.
As fans flock to see the artist known for his magnetic stage presence, the significance of Mars’s key to the city and his support for local healthcare initiatives will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy in Las Vegas.
