Timothy Simons, known for his role in the Netflix series *Nobody Wants This*, recently shared a candid insight into his family’s reaction to his fame. During an exclusive interview at the PaleyFest LA event celebrating the show on 8 April, the 47-year-old actor revealed that his 14-year-old twins are largely indifferent to their father’s celebrity status.

Simons, who shares his children with wife Annie Simons, admitted that, at their age, the twins do not find him particularly ‘cool’. “My kids are 14. I’m not f—ing cool,” he jokingly stated, underscoring that his achievements do not impress them. Despite his success with the popular series, his children remain unfazed. “It could be the biggest show in the world. They simply do not care,” he added.

However, it seems that while his children may overlook their father’s status, they are quite keen on meeting his co-stars. Simons mentioned that his twins express excitement at the prospect of seeing actors like Adam Brody, Kristen Bell, and Jackie Tohn. “They always get excited to see Justine and Jackie, Adam and Kristen. I’ve got to remind them that there’s a fifth person in that ensemble,” he shared, highlighting the light-hearted dynamic within his family.
This isn’t the first time Simons has discussed how his children perceive his work. In a previous conversation with PEOPLE, he noted that even if they do not view him as a star, they enjoy the show itself. “They really like *Nobody Wants This*,” he remarked during the season six premiere of *The Handmaid’s Tale* in April 2025. He credited the show with granting him a slight edge in credibility, albeit mainly because his children were keen on meeting other cast members.
Simons even planned to bring his kids to the set during the filming of the second season of *Nobody Wants This*, which he anticipated would be a significant day for them. He expressed the enthusiasm children typically have for celebrity encounters, stating, “They want to meet everybody. They want to meet Justine, Kristen, Adam. They want to meet Jackie.” This excitement is met with a humorous reminder from Simons that he is also part of the show, but the twins remain nonchalant.
His foray into the *Percy Jackson* franchise has also generated some excitement within the family. He recently revealed that his role as Tantalus in the upcoming season thrilled his children, who are fans of the book series. “They loved them. It’s very fun to know that I can do something my kids are into,” Simons explained. He recounted a heartwarming moment on set when he brought along copies of the books that were signed by the cast, which sent his kids “over the moon.”
The jovial actor recognised the fleeting nature of this admiration from his teenagers. “I don’t know how long those positive vibes are going to last,” he joked, alluding to the ever-changing dynamics typical of parenting adolescents. Indeed, he acknowledged the emotional rollercoaster that defines life with teenagers, noting that much of it tends to be directed at him.
Simons’ balance of parenting and acting showcases the realities many celebrity parents face, where professional accomplishments often take a back seat to the everyday lives of their children. His experiences reveal a relatable aspect of family life that resonates with many, making for a charming blend of candour and humour.
Overall, Timothy Simons’ reflections on his family life provide an insightful glimpse into the challenges and joys of being a famous parent. While he may shine on screen, it is clear that in the eyes of his twins, his greatest accomplishments are yet to be recognised.
