A local business owner from Indiana, Tony Pendleton, has tragically lost his life following an incident in a parking lot where he was reportedly struck by an SUV. The police allege that the driver of the vehicle, Atrailu Moore, deliberately followed Pendleton before hitting him with the red Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The incident took place on Monday, 6 April, around 11:21 AM. Officers from the Griffith Police Department were called to the scene, located near the 1100 block of East Ridge Road, in response to a fatal collision. Pendleton, a well-regarded member of the local community, sustained critical injuries from the impact and subsequently passed away.
According to investigators, Moore, a resident of Gary, allegedly engaged Pendleton in a brief interaction as they moved through the parking lot. Shortly after this exchange, he purportedly used his vehicle to strike Pendleton. Upon arrival, police found Moore still present at the scene and took him into custody.
