Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, the duo behind the acclaimed series *Breaking Bad*, are set to introduce their latest creations under their mezcal label, Dos Hombres. The brand, co-founded in 2019, is expanding its offerings with two new artisanal tequilas, Blanco and Reposado, crafted in collaboration with the renowned Tequilera Tap Distillery located in Amatitán, Jalisco.

Cranston, aged 70, explained that their passion for agave extends beyond mezcal to encompass tequila, describing it as a “natural evolution” of their brand. He stated, “Mezcal will always be our foundation, but tequila provided us with a different avenue to explore the same craftsmanship. It felt like a natural progression.”
Paul, 46, expressed his long-term affection for tequila, humorously admitting, “I’ve been a tequila fan way too long to admit publicly.” His appreciation for the spirit has developed over time, shifting from casual consumption to a more sophisticated enjoyment focused on the subtleties of flavour.
Cranston’s relationship with tequila echoes Paul’s journey. “I’ve been a tequila drinker for many years, but like Aaron, my relationship with it has evolved,” he remarked. Initially, he was drawn to it for social occasions, but now prioritises quality and the overall experience it offers.
The Blanco Tequila boasts vibrant flavours, characterised by notes of black pepper, lime, and orange zest, rounded off with hints of toasted cinnamon and a touch of coconut. Paul shared his preference for enjoying it neat, describing it as “so clean and bright,” while Cranston noted that it serves well in a classic cocktail, like a margarita, enhancing the tasting experience without overpowering it.
In a light-hearted moment, Paul recounted his previously strong stance against taking shots of mezcal, humouring that his opinions on tequila are more flexible. “If it’s a great tequila, I’d rather sip it,” he said, offering a nod to those who may still prefer a quick drink.
The friendship between Paul and Cranston, nurtured throughout their *Breaking Bad* journey that began in 2008, thrives as they embark on this business venture together. “The highlight has been building something meaningful together outside of acting,” said Cranston, reflecting on the bond they have formed as they work on their brand.
Paul echoed this sentiment, sharing that the experience has allowed them to deepen their relationship. “We became family on *Breaking Bad*, and this has given us a reason to keep creating together,” he remarked. Their heartfelt camaraderie extends beyond the boardroom, as they find joy in travelling together and interacting with tequila enthusiasts.
With nearly two decades of collaboration since their iconic roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, the nature of their partnership remains significant. Cranston emphasised the rarity of such long-lasting professional relationships in the industry, referring to their collaboration as “incredibly meaningful.”
Reflecting on their shared journey, Paul stated, “It’s wild when you think about it. That show changed our lives, and the fact that we’re still creating together just feels really special.” Their enduring friendship, built on trust, respect, and countless memories, now also encompasses their venture into the world of tequila.
Through Dos Hombres, Paul and Cranston aim not only to celebrate their friendship but also to deliver high-quality tequila that showcases the artistic craftsmanship of traditional distilling methods. As they continue to expand their brand, the duo remains committed to exploring the rich flavours of agave, promising tequila that represents their enduring partnership and shared values.
