Mark Consuelos is making his long-awaited debut on Broadway, captivating audiences with his performance in the highly anticipated revival of Noël Coward’s classic play, *Fallen Angels*. The production, staged by the esteemed Roundabout Theatre Company and directed by Scott Ellis, features a stellar cast, including acclaimed actress Rose Byrne and Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara. The show is generating a buzz, not just for its comedic brilliance but for its impressive ensemble.

Kelly Ripa, Consuelos’ wife of nearly thirty years, attended his performance on 7 April, enthusiastically supporting her husband from the audience. Following the show, Ripa reflected on the experience during a recent episode of their co-hosted talk show, *Live with Kelly and Mark*. She expressed her amazement at her husband’s comedic timing, stating, “I forget how unbelievably funny you are. You are amazing. You knocked my socks off,” highlighting the depth of her admiration.
Her praise did not stop there; Ripa found the entire production to be a delightful experience. “You did not lie to me when you said, ‘You will love it.’ It’s my cup of tea,” she gushed. Ripa described the show as “laughter from the moment you are taken back in time,” commending the glamorous set design and the impeccable costuming.
In *Fallen Angels*, the plot revolves around two upper-class wives who reunite and reminisce about past affairs while their husbands are away. The comedy escalates when they discover they once shared the same lover, and tensions rise as old rivalries resurface in humorous fashion. Ripa praised her fellow cast members, including Byrne and O’Hara, calling them “unbearably funny” and “geniuses”. She also highlighted the talents of Tracee Chimo and Christopher Fitzgerald, adding that Chimo was “a revelation”.
The production, which marks Consuelos’ first venture onto the Broadway stage, is generating substantial buzz. “I laughed for 90 minutes,” Ripa remarked enthusiastically, portraying the overall enjoyment she derived from watching her husband’s stage debut.
Behind the scenes, the production also has a personal connection for Ripa. Scott Ellis, the show’s director, previously collaborated with her on the sitcom *Hope and Faith* over 20 years ago. Ripa revealed that Ellis had reached out to her regarding Consuelos’ role, a surprise to her at the time. “I thought [Ellis] was proposing that I do the show,” she recalled, leading to an amusing exchange between the two.
*Fallen Angels* is set to officially premiere at Broadway’s Todd Haimes Theatre on 19 April, with a limited run scheduled until 7 June. Prior to this opening, Ripa will attend another Broadway launch: Joe Mantello’s revival of Arthur Miller’s *Death of a Salesman*, which opens on 9 April at the Winter Garden Theatre. This production also marks the Broadway debut of the couple’s son, Joaquin Consuelos.
Reflecting on her son’s upcoming performance, Ripa expressed her emotional response after witnessing a preview performance on 10 March, stating, “It was unbelievable. The entire production is incredible, and just to see Joaquin up there took my breath away.” She highlighted her pride, noting how surreal it felt to see her child on stage. “If you had told me when he was a newborn, ‘Oh, 22 years from now he’ll be starring on Broadway,’ I would have thought you were on drugs,” she laughed.
As excitement builds for *Fallen Angels* and *Death of a Salesman*, tickets are now available for the public. Both productions promise to deliver memorable entertainment, showcasing the diverse talents of the Consuelos family and their remarkable contributions to the theatrical scene.
