In a candid conversation on the “Decisions, Decisions” podcast, Palmer detailed the moment the man approached her on one knee, ring box in hand. She immediately sensed that the situation was unusual, noting, “This is how I knew that something was wrong because the ring was nice.” Amidst the unexpected proposal, Palmer described the ring as looking expensive and reflects on how it added an eerie seriousness to the actor’s recognition of the man’s intentions.
Palmer shared how she perceived sincerity in the man’s eyes as he offered the ring, leading her to momentarily wonder if it was some sort of elaborate joke. “I could see in his eyes that we’ve had romance. The approaching Austin Police Department got involved after receiving reports of a disturbance. Officers arrived at the hotel at approximately 10:32 a.m. after a caller alerted them to the man’s refusal to leave the property. Identified as Kendall Demouchet, he reportedly insisted on continuing with his proposal despite being told he could no longer remain at the festival.
Demouchet was subsequently arrested for criminal trespass and taken to Travis County Jail. Following the incident, he posted bond on March 14 and is scheduled to appear in court on April 27.
