According to the Georgia State Patrol, Patience was seated in the front passenger seat when the vehicle lost control and crashed at around 3:30 a.m. local time on Saturday. Unfortunately, she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. Matter of fact, she would tell me, ‘Momma, forgive. Momma, love.’ I’m going to do exactly what she would want.”

She reflected on the outpouring of love from the community and highlighted her daughter’s profound impact on those around her. “When I tell you looking at all these people that came out to support her, the impact that she had, the love that she had, I’m not even sad no more,” she shared with attendees.
In an effort to support funeral expenses and honour Patience’s legacy, a GoFundMe campaign was established by Jones. The fundraiser has since generated over £13,000 (equivalent to approximately $16,000) as of April 1, illustrating the community’s willingness to come together in times of need. The online description characterised Patience as a “thoughtful” and “bright” young woman who was preparing to graduate in May and excitedly stepping into a new chapter of her life.
In her heartfelt message, Jones expressed that despite the incomprehensible circumstances surrounding her daughter’s passing, she believed that Patience’s life had meaning. “While we may never understand why her time with us was cut short, we trust that her life had purpose and that her love and spirit will continue to live on through all who knew her,” she wrote, emphasising the importance of remembering the positive impact Patience had on those around her.
Patience’s friend, Jazzlyn Scott, described her as someone who always offered support and love. “She had so much love and was always there for me anytime I needed her,” Scott recounted, expressing her deep sorrow over the loss. “She had so much to live for. It’s insane that I will never be able to speak to her or hug her,” she lamented, adding that it was particularly painful to think of Patience not being able to walk the stage at graduation.
