Cameron Sloane’s experience highlights a unique and often overlooked aspect of women’s health: the changes that can occur during the 40s, including unexpected breast growth. The 45-year-old from the UK shared her story after noticing her breasts began to increase in size when she reached this milestone age, a phenomenon she attributes to hormonal changes.

Initially, Sloane had breast augmentation surgery in 2018, which she described as an immense success. With her enhancements, she felt the shape of her breasts was harmonious with her frame, leading to a boost in her self-esteem. However, as she entered her 40s in 2021, she was surprised to find that her breasts had begun to grow again, prompting discomfort and frustration.
“I have a small frame, and I had a lot of back issues,” Sloane recalled. “It was just very uncomfortable, and clothes didn’t fit properly. I wear a size small, but many of the clothes weren’t accommodating.” This predicament led her to seriously consider further surgical intervention.
According to medical insight from the Cleveland Clinic, the human body continues to undergo changes long after puberty. In particular, hormones play a significant role in the modifications of breast size and shape during life. As women approach menopause, fluctuations in hormone levels can lead to various physical changes.
Over the course of the next year, Sloane deliberated about seeking surgical help to address her growing breast size. She searched for a surgeon who could accommodate her desire for a specific shape and ultimately decided to undergo surgery again in December 2025.
“The pain in my lower back, and the way I felt in clothes, made me realise it was time to have the surgery,” she explained. “Carrying around these ‘boulders’ was hard.” Following her operation, Sloane reported feeling a marked difference, both physically and emotionally. “I feel so much more comfortable and confident. I can wear clothes I haven’t been able to wear in years. I feel sexier in lingerie now too.”
Empowered by her journey, Sloane is keen to share her experience with a wider audience. She hopes her story will encourage women to take action, whether they are considering breast augmentation or dealing with medical concerns related to breast size. “Do what makes you feel sexy,” she advises. “As women in our forties, bodies do change in ways we least expect it.”
She emphasises that if an individual’s struggles with their body impact their physical health or mental well-being, it is essential to seek solutions. “If it’s something you are struggling with, and it affects your physical well-being, you should fix it,” she urges, highlighting the importance of personal choice in these matters.
Sloane strongly believes that any modifications women make to their bodies, whether for enhancement or reduction, should be free from shame. She says, “Lots of women enhance their breasts to feel better, so the same thing goes in the other direction with women who choose to reduce.” This perspective aims to normalise the conversation around bodily autonomy and the choices women make regarding their bodies throughout various life stages.
As discussions surrounding body image and self-acceptance continue to evolve, stories like that of Cameron Sloane underscore the diverse experiences women can face. Whether influenced by hormonal changes, lifestyle adjustments, or personal preferences, the journey of understanding one’s own body remains an integral aspect of womanhood.
Sloane’s candid reflections serve as a reminder that it’s crucial for women to advocate for their own health and well-being, irrespective of societal expectations. For those navigating similar experiences, her words may provide encouragement and an affirmation that they are not alone in their struggles or decisions about their bodies.
