A kindergarten teacher from Louisiana has been praised for her quick actions that saved a young student who was choking during lunchtime. Megan Benham, who teaches at Dolby Elementary School, swiftly responded when she noticed six-year-old Nicholas “Nikko” Marks Jr. in distress while eating an apple.

While supervising her students, Benham observed Nikko with tears streaming down his face, indicating something was wrong. Upon approaching him, she realised he was unable to breathe and was choking on a piece of apple. I know that the parents of this student are grateful, and so are we.”
