Family Accused of Beating, Burning and Abusing Cleaner in Their Home: Prosecutors

A family in Germany has been arrested on serious allegations of abuse against a cleaner who lived and worked in their home. According to reports from the Braunschweig senior public prosecutor, Christian Wolters, arrest warrants were issued by the Clausthal-Zellerfeld district court for a family group comprising a 49-year-old man, his 28-year-old daughter, and his 62-year-old wife. They are suspected of committing “dangerous bodily harm” towards a 32-year-old woman.

The family was reportedly taken into custody in Salzgitter, located in Lower Saxony, following the emergence of allegations that the victim endured severe abuse over several weeks. Disturbing claims include that she was forced to extract her own teeth using a wrench and suffered physical violence, including being struck with a baseball bat, having her tongue nailed to a board, and her stomach burned with a laboratory equipment known as a Bunsen burner.

Neighbours noted hearing her being shouted at for her cleaning duties and described her losing more teeth over time.
