Actress Tia Mowry has shared insights into her journey of healing and personal growth following her divorce, crediting close friend Gabrielle Union as a pivotal source of support during this transformative period. Mowry, who recently attended the Jhpiego Laughter Is the Best Medicine Gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel, discussed her renewed outlook on life and relationships, highlighting her commitment to manifesting happiness and positivity.

At 47, Mowry expressed how a prolonged period of solitude allowed her to explore her identity and emotional needs. “I will say that I’ve been in a place of solitude for a very long time,” she revealed in an exclusive interview. “And there, I was really able to learn who I am, what it was that I wanted, and what it was that I needed. And I manifested this. I really did.”
As she navigated this journey of self-discovery, the actress acknowledged a shift in her approach to dating. With newfound intentionality, Mowry prioritised a positive mindset, which she believes has been instrumental in reshaping her romantic outlook. “I like speaking it into existence,” she explained, emphasising her belief in the power of positive affirmations and visualization.
Mowry expanded on her philosophy regarding the importance of self-talk, noting that negativity could perpetuate unfulfilling experiences. “I was like, ‘You know what? I believe in neuroscience and how the brain works,” she reflected. “If I continue to speak negative about it, that’s what my brain is going to seek out and find.’”
While Mowry confirmed that she is “very happy” in her new relationship, she opted to keep the details about her partner private. “I want to protect [our privacy],” she said, underscoring her desire for discretion as she navigates her personal life.
Now, as a mother of two, Mowry is acutely aware of the responsibilities that accompany her role, prioritising her children, son Cree and daughter Cairo. “I have a lot of responsibilities and taking care of my children, being the best mum and parent to them is my priority,” she stated. “So if this happens to happen, then it happens. But yeah, I’m very much at peace.”
The actress was present at the gala to support her dear friend Gabrielle Union, who received recognition as Jhpiego’s Global Ambassador for her advocacy work on behalf of women and families globally. “She has been an angel for me for the past four years,” Mowry said of Union, who has been a steadfast presence throughout Mowry’s challenging times.
Much of Mowry’s healing can be attributed to the support she has received from her family and friends. “It’s been a lot of healing, but a lot of my healing has come from my friends, my family, and my tribe,” she noted. Her gratitude for Union’s guidance is evident, as Mowry emphasises the profound understanding and wisdom Union offers. “She doesn’t judge you as an individual, but she also doesn’t judge your circumstance,” Mowry remarked.
Their bond has been nurtured not only through shared experiences but also through a close-knit circle of friends. Mowry highlighted the joy of travelling together with her friends, which she views as a source of strength. “We have an incredible girl group,” she stated, celebrating the connection that enhances their lives. “This is one group that really embodies what being a woman is to me. And that’s community, support, love.”
With a focus on self-growth and intention, Mowry is poised to embrace the future, enriched by her experiences and the love surrounding her. As she steps forward into this new chapter of her life, her story serves as a reminder of the importance of support, self-discovery, and the positive potential that comes from nurturing personal happiness amidst challenges.
