McDonald’s has unveiled an exciting new collaboration with Netflix’s animated blockbuster, *KPop Demon Hunters*, set to launch on March 31 across its US restaurants. This limited-time menu is inspired by the film and features themed meals that mirror the rivalry between the fictional K-pop groups depicted in the movie.

Among the offerings is the *Saja Boys Breakfast Meal*, which includes a Spicy Saja McMuffin paired with hash browns and a small soft drink dubbed “Soda Pop.” Fans of the rival group, HUNTR/X, will also find their treat in the form of the HUNTR/X Meal, which features ten Chicken McNuggets, a medium soft drink, and three limited-edition items.

In an official statement, Alyssa Buetikofer, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s, emphasised the brand’s focus on fans. “Everything we do at McDonald’s is for the fans, and no one can relate to that more than Netflix and *KPop Demon Hunters*,” she said. Buetikofer noted that this partnership represents a “natural fit,” allowing fans of both McDonald’s and the film to immerse themselves in the world created by the movie.

In addition to the themed meals, the collaboration introduces a unique item known as *Ramyeon McShaker Fries*. These fries contain a spicy umami seasoning inspired by characters Rumi, Mira, and Zoey’s favoured snack in the film. Consumers are encouraged to shake the seasoning onto the fries for an authentic taste that resonates with South Korean flavours, reflecting the culinary themes central to the movie’s story.
Moreover, the fries will be served with two distinctive sauces: Hunter Sauce, which is a sweet chili concoction featuring hints of chili, garlic, and pepper, designed to appeal to HUNTR/X fans, and Demon Sauce, a bold mustard sauce that notably adds a tangy and spicy kick, decorated in purple just like the thematic patterns associated with the film’s characters.
Adding to the excitement, McDonald’s is also launching the *Derpy McFlurry*, a delicious blend of creamy vanilla soft serve swirled with berry popping pearls and a wild berry sauce. This treats customers to a fun dessert option, further extending the movie’s influence into the fast-food chain’s offerings.
The film *KPop Demon Hunters* has earned significant recognition, winning two Golden Globe awards, including Best Motion Picture—Animated and Best Original Song—Motion Picture. Additionally, it claimed top accolades for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at the 98th Academy Awards. These achievements underscore the film’s growing global impact and widespread acclaim.
Marian Lee, Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix, echoed Buetikofer’s sentiments about engaging fans. She articulated that the partnership with McDonald’s allows them to turn the rivalry of the film’s K-pop groups into an interactive experience for fans. Lee pointed out that the menu items draw inspiration from Korean culture, promising an authentic flavour experience that feels integral to the film’s narrative.
As part of the collaboration, all new meals will include collectible photo cards of HUNTR/X and Saja Boys and a Derpy access card. These collectible items will add an element of excitement for fans, encouraging them to experience the product line fully.
The collaboration between McDonald’s and *KPop Demon Hunters* appears to be a clever engagement strategy that resonates not only with fans of the film but also with those who appreciate the fast-food chain’s iconic status. With the meals set to launch soon, fans eagerly await the opportunity to enjoy a taste of the film’s universe, all while savouring some of McDonald’s beloved menu items.
