Rapper Cardi B is set to unveil her haircare brand, Grow-Good Beauty, in April, drawing from her own experiences and hair care mishaps. The announcement comes after the musician candidly recounted her struggles with hair treatments during a recent appearance on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon*.
In a lighthearted exchange, Cardi opened up about the adverse effects of her DIY hair routine, particularly the time she added raw garlic to her hair regimen. “I put garlic in it, but I put it too raw in my hair, and for six months straight, every single time I would sweat, I smelled like a pasta bowl,” she shared, eliciting laughter from Fallon.

The 33-year-old artist further joked about the experience, acknowledging that contrary to the garlic’s vampire-repelling properties, she felt she resembled a vampire instead. Fallon playfully responded, cautioning her against using garlic in her products, to which Cardi agreed, admitting, “I would never do that again. It didn’t work out.”
Cardi, born Belcalis Almánzar, has developed a reputation for crafting her own hair treatments based on family recipes and personal research. She revealed to Fallon that her experimentation included rice water and onion water, but she opted for raw garlic in an attempt to save time. “You always want to try the next trend, and I’m like, I don’t got time to boil it,” she recalled, dubbing her six-month garlic odyssey as reminiscent of a “chicken Caesar salad.”
The upcoming launch of Grow-Good Beauty reflects Cardi’s dedication to her hair and her journey towards restoring its health after years of damage. In a statement made to *Women’s Wear Daily* (WWD), she expressed her enthusiasm, noting, “I made Grow-Good because I really put the work in on my hair. I was doing my own masks in my kitchen, using what I already knew from my family’s recipes and what I learned from my own research.”
While the rapper has made strides in her career, she has also encountered backlash regarding her new venture on social media. Despite her earlier decision to step back from feuds online, she took to Instagram Live shortly after her WWD feature to address critics dismissively.
She stated, “So, my haircare line is coming out, right? And I’m seeing a lot of debates from you bitches… You hating ass, mad-ass bitches. This is something that I struggled with my whole life.” Cardi emphasised her commitment to her craft and the importance of sharing her story with fans. “One thing I do know, bitch, is f—ing hair,” she asserted passionately.
Grow-Good Beauty will debut with a range of products aimed at harnessing the natural growth and health of hair. The launch collection will feature two types of shampoo, dubbed Wash Cycle and Wash Cycle+, alongside two conditioners called Soft Serve and Soft Serve+. Additionally, a hair mask named Get Rich and a shine-boosting serum, named Everything Serum, will also form part of the line, with each item priced at $20 or under.
As Cardi B prepares to embark on this new business venture, fans and enthusiasts alike await the results of her dedication to hair health. Her honesty about the ups and downs of her hair care journey resonates, as she transforms personal trials into a professional offering. Cardi B’s Grow-Good Beauty promises to provide not just products but an authentic narrative of resilience and passion.
