The third grader lost his life after choking on a grape during snack time at Pomona Elementary School on 9 February. Nicholas’s mother, Kenzie Gray, expressed the necessity for a communal farewell, stating, “We knew there needed to be a way for the community to say goodbye and honour him.” The emotional event featured a bubble release, symbolising hope and remembrance, as those who were touched by Nicholas gathered to reflect on his life.

At the recent memorial event, Kenzie expressed a firm resolve, stating, “In your absence, we’ll never forget about you. We’ll live in your name, and we’ll honour your name every day.”
