Orlando Bloom has placed his Malibu home on the market for a price tag of £12 million, marking the end of an era for the actor who has called the beachfront property his residence for nearly 15 years. The listing highlights the extensive renovations Bloom undertook during his time there, reportedly spending more than double the original purchase cost on improvements.

Bloom acquired the four-bedroom, five-bathroom estate for £2.5 million in 2011, during his marriage to Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr. The couple separated in 2013 after three years of togetherness. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal regarding the sale, Bloom expressed his reluctance to part with the property at first, but ultimately realised it was the opportune moment to move on, particularly as he resides further north in California.

In discussing the unique qualities of the home, Chris Cortazzo of Compass, the estate agent overseeing the sale, emphasised its allure as a sanctuary for high-profile residents. “In Malibu, personalities like Orlando Bloom are not merely searching for a house; they are in pursuit of a retreat. This estate, mere footsteps away from one of Malibu’s most scenic beaches, presents a rare resort-like ambiance where one can flow seamlessly from a chef’s kitchen to an ocean-view pool, all while maintaining total privacy,” Cortazzo remarked.
Bloom’s Malibu residence holds special significance as the place where he and Kerr’s son, Flynn, now 15, spent his formative years. The actor also shares a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, with his ex-fiancée Katy Perry. The home has been a backdrop to many cherished memories for the actor and his family.
Over the years, Bloom extensively transformed the property to suit his tastes. He revamped the ground floor into an open-plan layout that merges the living and kitchen spaces, departing from what he described as a “higgledy-piggledy” structure when he first acquired it. Notably, an outdoor pool was added, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
Situated in a gated community above El Matador State Beach, the 4,180-square-foot property boasts sweeping coastal vistas. Bloom was initially attracted to the home for its privacy and convenient beach access, which continues to be a key selling point of the estate.
The property comes with added amenities that enhance its appeal, including a fireplace, a hot tub, and a gym, along with sophisticated outdoor living spaces. Glass doors integrate the indoors with the outdoors, leading to both the back and side yards, while a dining area extends to a covered terrace. The primary suite features glass doors that provide access to a wraparound deck, perfect for soaking up the sun or viewing the ocean.
In terms of design, Bloom described the home as having a “Japanese feel” to it, reflecting a sense of tranquillity. The garage has also served as the home for his valued motorcycle collection, providing easy access to scenic drives through the Malibu canyons.
The decision to sell comes on the heels of Bloom’s engagement to Katy Perry, which was confirmed to have ended in June 2025, following a nearly nine-year relationship. Despite the split, a source confirmed that both stars are effectively navigating their dynamic as co-parents, focusing on their family and ensuring an amicable relationship for the sake of their daughter.
Since their separation, Perry has reportedly begun dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, further capturing media attention. Meanwhile, Bloom has focused on the sale of his beloved Malibu home, closing a chapter that has been significant in both his personal life and career.
As the property is set to attract potential buyers seeking a serene retreat, it remains to be seen who will take on the mantle of this Hollywood hideaway once owned by the famed actor.
