Disney Cruise Line has unveiled plans for its ninth ship, the Disney Believe, which is slated to set sail in 2027. The announcement was made during the Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholders meeting, where new CEO Josh D’Amaro shared insights about the company’s ambitious expansion plans. The Disney Believe is set to embody the theme of “promise and possibilities,” promising an enchanting experience for guests as they explore beloved Disney stories.

The Disney Believe will become part of the cruise line’s Wish class of ships, joining its sister vessels, the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. Each ship within this class is designed around a distinctive theme—in this case, the Believe will focus on the inspirational tales of characters who aspire to achieve their dreams. This new addition signifies Disney’s commitment to creating immersive experiences across its fleet.

Onboard the Disney Believe, passengers can expect to be transported into the magical worlds of popular Disney franchises. The ship will celebrate iconic stories from films such as Encanto, Frozen, Moana, Snow White, and The Little Mermaid. Through interactive storytelling and themed areas, guests will engage with the enchanting narratives that have captivated audiences for generations.
The announcement of the Disney Believe comes on the heels of the debut of another new ship, the Disney Adventure, which recently embarked on its inaugural voyage from Singapore. Launched on March 10, the Disney Adventure offers three- and four-night cruises from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, featuring an array of uniquely themed spaces tailored to families and children. Adult guests can indulge in stylish lounges designed for relaxation and leisure.
The Disney Adventure boasts several immersive areas inspired by beloved Disney characters and settings. These include the Disney Imagination Garden, Town Square, San Fransokyo Street, Marvel Landing, Toy Story Place, Wayfinder Bay, and the Disney Discovery Reef. Each themed location offers a distinct experience, further enhancing the magical atmosphere aboard the ship.
Celebrations surrounding the Disney Adventure’s launch included a grand event held on March 4, during which the ship was officially welcomed into the Disney fleet. Renowned actor Robert Downey Jr., known for his portrayal of Iron Man, played a key role in the festivities by serving as the ship’s godparent and performing the traditional christening ceremony in the Walt Disney Theater.
The announcement reflects Disney’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio of experiences, driven by what is described as the largest capital investment plan in Disney Experiences’ history. This plan not only includes new cruise ships but also focuses on enhancing Disney parks and attractions around the globe.
As Disney continues to develop its cruise line offerings, the emphasis on family-friendly experiences is a key focus. The Disney Believe aims to meld entertainment with adventure, allowing families to bond over shared experiences while immersing themselves in Disney’s rich storytelling tradition.
With the Disney Believe set to launch in 2027, anticipation continues to build among fans and potential cruisers alike. As Disney Cruise Line diversifies its fleet and enhances its offerings, guests can look forward to a new chapter in maritime magic, where the themes of hope and aspiration take centre stage on the high seas.
