Passengers aboard a JetBlue flight travelling from Boston to Florida faced a distressing situation on Saturday, March 14, as they were held on the tarmac for over two hours due to an alleged bomb threat. The incident involved JetBlue flight 1231, an Airbus A220-300, which departed Boston Logan International Airport shortly after 9 a.m. and landed at Vero Beach Regional Airport around noon.

Upon landing, the aircraft did not proceed to the terminal as expected. Instead, it was parked far from the airport facilities, raising alarm among the passengers. Tommy Dempsey, a Boston resident who was on board, expressed his fear during the ordeal, stating, “I thought, ‘Yeah, this could be it.’ I didn’t know what was going on.”
Reportedly, the flight’s captain informed passengers shortly after landing that there was a “security issue” but did not provide further details. Sharman Sacchetti, a reporter from WCVB 5 who was also aboard, relayed that the pilot indicated the presence of fire equipment nearby, creating further anxiety among travellers.
