Patrick Warburton Admits He ‘Never Got into Acting to Do Cartoons,’ Now Hopes to ‘Do More Interesting Things’ (Exclusive)

Patrick Warburton, the celebrated actor known for his distinctive voice and memorable roles, recently shared his thoughts on the impact of fan interactions and his current priorities in life and work. At 61 years old, Warburton has had a storied career spanning nearly three decades, and he told PEOPLE that the affection shown to him by fans means a great deal.

Many may recognise Warburton from his various voice acting roles in animated features such as *Family Guy*, *The Emperor’s New Groove*, and *Bee Movie*. His performance as Puddy in the iconic sitcom *Seinfeld* solidified his place within television history, while his appearances in *A Series of Unfortunate Events* and *Rules of Engagement* showcased his versatility as an on-screen actor.

Despite the many years in the acting profession, Warburton finds it heartwarming when fans approach him to share their enthusiasm. He explained, “Sometimes when you’re speaking at a Con and you go sign, people want to take pictures with you, and they’re in tears. It’s sweet.” Though he can’t fully comprehend why his work evokes such strong emotions, he deeply appreciates the connection he has formed with his audience. “These certain cartoons they watched a thousand times have that impact on their lives. It’s lovely to be on the other end of that,” he noted.

He aims to venture into more interesting and unconventional projects moving forward.

In addition to his acting career, Warburton is dedicated to philanthropic efforts through *The Warburton*, a celebrity golf tournament he hosts annually. This event, which has gained popularity over the 16 years since its inception, benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, having raised over £40 million to date. Last year alone, the tournament brought in a remarkable £6.4 million, uniting various figures from Hollywood, sports, and business in support of a noble cause.

Warburton credits the generosity of the Coachella Valley for the tournament’s success, emphasising the significance of the work done at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He stated, “It’s been a fantastic experience for the family,” praising the efforts of his team, including chairman Clark Rainey, who works tirelessly to ensure the event’s impact.
