Popular podcast host Bunnie Xo, known off-air as Alisa DeFord, has declared her intention to undergo a facelift. The 46-year-old revealed her plans during a recent episode of her podcast, the Dumb Blonde Podcast, in which she urged her listeners to keep her in their thoughts and prayers ahead of the procedure scheduled for Sunday, March 15.

Bunnie has been contemplating this cosmetic surgery for several years, expressing the anticipation she feels as she embarks on this new chapter of her life. During her podcast, she candidly described her feelings about the upcoming surgery, encouraging her fans not to be alarmed by the temporary appearance changes that may follow. “So send lots of prayers for your girl,” she stated, affirming her intention to continue recording some new episodes of her podcast whilst recovering.

Discussing the physical manifestations of her surgery, she remarked, “I’m going to look crazy, guys. I’m going to be bruised. It’s going to be a little weird,” but reassured her listeners of her surgeon’s skill, saying, “My doctor is really f—ing good, so everything’s going to go great.”
The topic of her facelift has elicited varied reactions, prompting Bunnie to confront some criticism regarding her decision. In a recent January episode, she reflected on the mixed opinions she has faced, noting that some have suggested she should delay such changes until she is older. “Some lady said to me, she was like, ‘At least wait until you’re 45 to get a facelift,'” she shared. In response, Bunnie pointed out that she would soon be celebrating her 46th birthday, making the timing of the procedure appropriate.
A significant concern for her audience arose from the apparent contradiction between her advocacy for self-love and the choice to undergo surgery. Bunnie defended her decision by reiterating her stance on body positivity, stating, “Yes, I love natural bodies… I preach against plastic surgery that I’ve had that I wish I hadn’t gotten. A facelift is not one of them.”
She explained that this particular choice was influenced by her experiences on the red carpet, where she felt self-conscious about her appearance, notably due to an uneven eye. In addition, she clarified that she has not used facial fillers since the early 2000s, further emphasising her desire to maintain authenticity while still considering the facelift.
Bunnie Xo’s announcement follows the release of her memoir, “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” which was launched at 92NY in New York City on February 16, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to sharing her life story and personal journey with her audience.
As her surgery date approaches, fans are eager to support her through this transformation while acknowledging the complexities of her decision. Bunnie’s candid discussions about beauty, self-acceptance, and the impact of public perception continue to resonate with her listeners, inspiring many to think critically about societal expectations regarding appearances.
As Bunnie Xo prepares for this new adventure and looks to document her recovery on her podcast, her unique blend of vulnerability and confidence stands as a testament to the conversations we have surrounding beauty, self-worth, and the choices we make for ourselves.
