Renowned actor Josh Gad has taken to social media to express his concerns for his mother, Susan Gad, who is currently facing a significant medical crisis. In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, the 45-year-old star conveyed his sorrow over having to cancel a long-anticipated trip to Disneyland Paris to be by her side during this difficult time.

On 11 March, Gad revealed that he had arrived in Paris with plans to visit the newly opened Frozen-themed section of the park. However, he stated he would have to depart on the following morning without having had the chance to explore the attractions he had been eagerly awaiting. “So truly heartbroken that I arrived today to take a tour and celebrate the new New World of Frozen… and instead have to leave tomorrow morning to be with my mother,” his post read.

While not delving into the specifics of his mother’s condition, Gad made an emotional plea for support, asking fans to keep her in their thoughts and prayers. He concluded his message with an uplifting note, expressing his intention to return to Disneyland to experience the magic of the new attractions with the general public once they open on 29 April. “In the meantime, please keep my mom in your prayers. She needs all the good energy she can get,” he added.
The actor, who is best known for voicing the beloved character Olaf in Disney’s Frozen franchise, has a history of publicly honouring his mother’s dedication and resilience during his upbringing. Just a few months prior, in June 2023, Gad celebrated Susan’s birthday with a touching tribute that highlighted her determination as a single parent raising him and his two brothers.
In that post, he reflected on her unwavering support, stating, “A lot of people think they have the greatest mum on the planet, but I know for a fact that that title belongs singularly to my mother, who insisted that we follow our dreams at all costs.” His emotional tribute was filled with gratitude, as he acknowledged her sacrifices and the values she instilled in him.
Gad’s affection for his mother extends to many personal milestones. In February of this year, he celebrated his own birthday by sharing a nostalgic photograph of his childhood alongside Susan. He indicated that any birthday wishes should be directed towards her, as he believes she is the true hero deserving of recognition. “Thank you all for the birthday love, but as I’ve always said, it’s the person who carried us… who deserves to be celebrated,” he posted.
In addition to his heartfelt messages about family, Gad has been busy with his professional career. He recently made appearances in two major films, Adulthood and Zootopia 2, and featured in an episode of Marvel’s Wonder Man. Fans are also eagerly anticipating his return as Olaf in the upcoming Frozen 3, set for release in November 2027, along with a sequel to Mel Brooks’ spoof classic Spaceballs, which will also debut that same year.
As Gad navigates this personal crisis, his devoted fanbase is undoubtedly rallying behind him and his family, sending their support and well wishes during this troubling time. It is evident that Susan Gad has played a pivotal role in shaping her son’s life, both personally and professionally, and she remains a central figure in his heart.
In moments like these, the celebrity status of figures like Josh Gad further highlights the importance of family bonds and the emotional challenges that come with caring for loved ones. As the actor prioritises his mother’s health, he serves as a reminder of the enduring support families provide to one another, especially in times of need.
