Jennifer Lopez has recently shared her feelings of newfound freedom and happiness following her divorce from Ben Affleck in 2024. In an interview preview aired on *Good Morning America*, Lopez, now 56, expressed that she is relishing her single status, describing this period of her life as her “happy era.”
Lopez’s reflections come after a significant transitional period. She explained how, for much of her adult life, she has been in long-term relationships, leaving her unaccustomed to being on her own. “I didn’t really know what that felt like since I was in my early 20s,” she remarked, adding, “I’ve always had boyfriends… and so many things that I felt like were out of my control.”

I cancelled tours and just decided to be home and sit in what had happened.” She admitted that the aftermath felt as though her life had imploded, but it also provided her with the opportunity to deeply reflect on her own identity and desires.
Lopez described the period as one of essential growth, stating, “I just got to the point where I was like, ‘What is going on with you?’” She emphasised that her focus was not on placing blame but rather on understanding her role in the circumstances surrounding her.
During this transformative time, Lopez kept the spotlight shining by launching a new Las Vegas residency titled *Up All Night*. This show, which debuted at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, has allowed her to experiment with her musical style by incorporating an orchestra, creating a fresh and celebratory atmosphere. “It’s a celebration,” she said, “You have to cherish and live every single moment.”
While many might expect Lopez to be diving into the dating scene, she confirmed that this is not the case. “I’m not dating up a storm,” she laughed, adding that she is content with her current situation. “It’s so nice right now. I’m so happy. It’s the best. I just feel really good right now.”
In addition to her professional pursuits, Lopez celebrated her role as a mother, gearing up for an emotionally significant year as her twins, Max and Emme, prepare for college. “I am a mom of graduates this year who are going to college,” she shared, illustrating the joy and pride she takes in her family.
