Starbucks has unveiled a refreshed rewards programme, introducing a tiered structure consisting of Green, Gold, and Reserve levels that cater to different types of coffee enthusiasts. This new initiative, which was rolled out on Tuesday, 10 March, was communicated to members through the Starbucks app and via email notifications, marking a significant update to the popular loyalty scheme.

At the foundation of this new system is the Green level, which serves as the entry point for all members. Customers can advance to the Gold tier after accumulating 500 stars through purchases, while the Reserve status is reserved for those who attain 2,500 stars within a year. Each tier is designed to offer distinct benefits, enhancing the overall customer experience at Starbucks.

One of the notable perks is the birthday reward, which allows Green members to enjoy a complimentary treat on their special day. Gold members will receive a slightly extended timeframe of seven days to redeem their rewards, while Reserve members can enjoy a full month to take advantage of their special offerings.

In celebration of this revamped programme, Starbucks has launched a selection of limited-time secret menu drinks tailored to each membership tier. Green members can indulge in an Iced Matcha Latte, which is complemented by strawberry purée and banana cream cold foam. Meanwhile, Gold members can savour an Iced Caramel Macchiato that features toasted coconut cream cold foam alongside a caramel crunch topping. For those who have reached Reserve status, the highlight is the Ube Shaken Espresso, beautifully drizzled with mocha and topped with ube powder and chocolate cream cold foam.
This update comes on the heels of Starbucks’ vibrant spring menu launch, boasting an array of new beverages inspired by seasonal flavours. Among these new offerings is a revitalised chai recipe, which blends black tea with an infusion of warming spices, including cinnamon, clove, cardamom, and ginger, accentuated by a touch of honey. Customers now have the opportunity to personalise their drinks, adjusting sweetness levels and incorporating various syrups such as vanilla, brown sugar, or cinnamon dolce to suit individual tastes.
Moreover, Starbucks has introduced toasted coconut syrup and toasted coconut cream cold foam, which will be available year-round to enhance the drinking experience. Signature drinks featuring these ingredients include the Toasted Coconut Cream Cold Brew, characterised by its coconut-flavoured cold foam, and the Toasted Coconut Latte available in both hot and iced versions, melding the syrup with rich espresso and milk.
The ube flavour, which has gained immense popularity, makes its nationwide debut in Starbucks locations after being introduced initially at Reserve venues last spring. The Iced Ube Coconut Macchiato showcases layers of toasted coconut milk, espresso, and is finished with ube coconut cream cold foam, garnished with toasted coconut flakes.
Additionally, customers can enjoy a refreshing Iced Lavender Cream Chai, combining chai spices with milk over ice, all topped with lavender cream cold foam. There are also lavender-inspired options such as the Lavender Latte and the Lavender Crème Frappuccino Blended Beverage, offering a delightful mix of vanilla syrup, milk, ice, and whipped cream.
Starbucks continues to innovate its offerings, making strides to enhance customer satisfaction with an array of new flavours and a refined rewards programme that caters to diverse preferences. With this new development, the company aims to strengthen its relationship with customers and encourage them to explore the rich tapestry of flavours that Starbucks has to offer.
