The teenager was reported missing on March 6, when, after stopping at a service station in Beting Lintang, he became separated from his family. According to reports, Azreeq had been riding a Yamaha R15 motorcycle and had been trailing behind his family’s vehicle at the time they stopped for petrol. It is believed the young man lost his way after the family regrouped at the gas station, leading to their eventual concern for his well-being.

His father, Ahmad Azhar Mohamad Yusof, indicated that they had attempted to contact him around 12:30 a.m. local time, requesting he join them at a nearby eatery in Besut.
