Corey Parker, a well-loved figure in the acting world, has passed away at the age of 60, following a lengthy battle with Stage 4 metastatic cancer. His death occurred on March 5 in Memphis, Tennessee, as confirmed by his aunt, Emily Parker, to TMZ. The actor’s struggle with cancer was widely publicised through a GoFundMe campaign launched to support his family during this difficult time.

Parker’s health decline began after he underwent hip replacement surgery, during which doctors discovered his advanced cancer. Updates from Parker on the fundraising page revealed the progression of his illness. Initially, there were glimmers of hope as his body responded to treatment. However, it soon became clear that the cancer had spread aggressively.

In a heartfelt update shared in late November, Parker stated that “90% of my bones” were affected by adenocarcinoma, a cancer affecting the glands lining organs. By January, his condition had deteriorated significantly; he reported losing the ability to speak properly and could no longer write or type. In his final message, dated February 17, he disclosed the terminal nature of his illness and mentioned the challenges he faced due to additional complications following radiation treatment.

Parker expressed immense gratitude towards those who contributed to his GoFundMe campaign, stating that their support had alleviated some of the financial burdens as he prepared for hospice care. “Your donations have made such a huge difference in our life and have allowed me to rest a little easier knowing that our needs are being met even while I can no longer have income,” he wrote poignantly.

Born and raised in New York City, Parker’s journey into acting began at a young age. He began performing at just five years old and had already started training with experienced mentors from the Actors Studio by the age of 14. His formal education continued at the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan, where he honed his craft further.

Parker’s acting career commenced in the 1980s with an uncredited role in the soap opera *As the World Turns*. He appeared in various television shows during that decade, including *The Bronx Zoo* and *Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning*.
