In a heartwarming twist during an ordinary shopping trip, a mother and her young son had a memorable encounter that turned a routine visit to a toy store into an unforgettable family moment. Allison Barrera, a 32-year-old parent, recounted the joy she and her four-year-old son, Adam, experienced when they stumbled upon the Bluey Supermarket Playset by Moose Toys, only to find Adam’s picture featured on the back of the packaging.

Allison, who took a moment to share her account with PEOPLE, expressed her immense pride in Adam’s achievements and hard work. Upon discovering the toy set, Adam’s reaction was priceless. “He was so happy! We asked him ‘Who’s that on the box?’ He put it on the ground, stepped back and squealed, ‘It’s me!’” recalled Barrera.

Adam’s journey into the world of modelling began in May 2022, when he was just a year old. His family signed him with two modelling agencies while residing in California, and what started as a fun way to pass the time soon blossomed into a series of assignments. Over the next two years, Adam featured in several photoshoots for notable brands, including Mattel. As he gained experience, he became more comfortable working alongside other child models and production teams.

In July 2024, an exciting opportunity presented itself when Adam’s agent in Los Angeles communicated that he had been booked for a job in Southern California — without needing to audition. The production team had heard nothing but praise about Adam, which felt like a significant affirmation to the family. This vote of confidence led to the family flying down for a two-day shoot, where Adam thrived in the lively atmosphere of the set, relishing the chance to interact with other children and enjoy snacks throughout the day.
At the time, Adam referred to his project as “my Bluey shoot,” enthusiastic about being linked to the beloved children’s series. However, as with many modelling assignments, there was no assurance that the family would see the end product in stores. It took nearly a year before they learned that the Bluey playset had indeed been released, a common scenario in the modelling industry.
Their discovery was serendipitous, occurring during a trip to the Pacific Northwest for another project in October 2025. While browsing online, they stumbled upon a toy review that showcased the playset. Eager to find it, they made a spontaneous visit to their nearest Target, only to be disappointed by its absence. It wasn’t until their return home that they eventually spotted the playset at a different store.
The moment Adam laid eyes on the box for the first time was pure magic. He rode around the store in the famous red cart, beaming with pride and showing off his image on the toy to other shoppers. One excited woman even requested a photograph with him holding the box, envisioning a keepsake for when he achieves fame in Hollywood.
Allison later shared a video of Adam’s joyous reaction on TikTok, which quickly gained popularity, capturing the attention of nearly one million viewers. The family felt compelled to purchase the playset, not only for Adam but also to share the joy with his siblings, as their grandmother bought four additional sets — one for each grandchild.
This delightful milestone resonated beyond their immediate family, with friends and relatives joining in the celebrations. The excitement reached even further when a cousin on holiday in Spain captured a picture of the same toy box overseas, a surreal reminder of the reach and success of the project.
Despite the burgeoning opportunities in modelling, Allison emphasised the importance of keeping Adam’s childhood grounded. Each modelling job is balanced with simple family activities, such as beach outings, ensuring that the experience remains enjoyable and light-hearted. Moreover, Adam’s earnings from his modelling work are being saved for his future, in an account that he will have access to when he turns eighteen.
For the time being, the focus remains on allowing Adam to embrace the adventure of modelling. “Whenever he wants to be done, we will support that too, but we will always look back on this particular job as a favourite,” Allison stated. “There’s nothing like seeing the joy of your child admiring a job well done!” In this enchanting tale of familial support and celebration, Adam Barrera’s modelling journey certainly embodies a spirited amalgamation of childhood innocence and professional accomplishment.
