A tragic house fire in Brookfield, Wisconsin, has claimed the lives of a father, his son, and their beloved family dog. The incident occurred early on the morning of Saturday, 28th February, when emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a residential property on Brookdale Drive.

According to Chris Cass, Brookfield’s Fire Chief, firefighters arrived at the scene just seven minutes after the alarm was raised at 7:13 a.m. Upon their arrival, they were informed that occupants were still inside the burning home. The responders managed to locate two individuals, later identified as 66-year-old Thomas Wall and his 26-year-old son, Dylan Wall, along with their pet dog, Django.
Despite the efforts of the firefighters, Dylan was taken to Froedtert Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Sadly, both Thomas and Django were pronounced dead at the scene. By 7:48 a.m., the fire was brought under control, but not before it resulted in significant loss.
While no firefighters were reported injured, three police officers who were involved in the rescue efforts sustained injuries and were subsequently treated at a local hospital before being discharged. The fire department expressed their condolences in a statement, noting that their thoughts are with the families and friends affected by this unfortunate event.
Neighbour Scott Clayton recounted waking up to the sound of sirens and described the intense smoke that enveloped the area. “It was such a heavy grey smoke,” he commented, reflecting on the harrowing experience. Residents nearby were alarmed by the scale of the fire, which affected not only those inside the home but the wider community as well.

She conveyed the profound pain experienced by the family, stating, “The pain of losing a son and brother in such a sudden way is something no family should ever have to endure.”
The campaign has garnered considerable support from the community, raising over £6,000 by the following Tuesday. Quartana emphasised the significance of the donations, expressing that any contribution would tremendously help Jen, Sherry, and all those who cherished Dylan.
Moreover, the family has expressed a desire to cremate Django alongside Dylan, allowing the two to remain together in spirit.
