Having taken time away from work due to her condition, Bennett expressed her disbelief upon arriving at the store to collect her order. When she saw the payment marked as completed, she initially assumed there had been some sort of error.

Bennett shared her surprise with CBS6, recounting, “I came in to pick them up…and then I realised they said ‘paid’ and ‘congratulations’.” Confused yet hopeful, she approached the bakery staff to clarify the situation, but they confirmed that an anonymous individual had kindly taken care of the expense.

Determined to understand more about the generous gesture, Bennett returned to Walmart days later, accompanied by a local news crew. It was then that she learned about the compassion exhibited by one of the store’s employees, who had chosen to cover the cost of her cakes without seeking recognition. “I gave her a hug, almost cried, and I walked away,” Bennett recalled fondly.
