Sarah Pidgeon shared her instinctive understanding of Carolyn Bessette’s complexities, which blossomed upon reading the scripts. “She felt like such a three-dimensional person with her intelligence, her warmth, her charisma, her sensitivities,” Pidgeon reflected on her initial impressions of the character.
Moreover, Pidgeon acknowledged the weight of public sentiment surrounding the couple, especially in light of criticism faced upon her casting.
