Reflecting on the journey, Mosley shared, “It’s been a surreal experience.” The actress, who is no stranger to soap operas—having previously portrayed Maya Avant, a pioneering trans character on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’—emphasized her pride in the cast and crew’s accomplishments. “We’ve done so much work, and it’s hard to believe that just a year ago, we were on the press tour announcing the show.”

‘Beyond the Gates’ made history upon its debut in February 2023, becoming the first Black-led soap opera to air in 35 years, following ‘Generations’ which ended in 1991. This show is particularly notable as it is also the first brand-new soap opera since ‘Passions’ premiered in 1999, and the first-ever hour-long daytime drama with a Black cast leading the narrative.
