The album, *In Times of Dragons*, is poised to immerse listeners in a narrative world populated by ten distinct characters, each linked to a song that reflects their individual stories. In a recent statement, Amos highlighted the album’s thematic resonance with current global challenges, stating that it draws parallels to “the current dangerous times we are in – where democracy itself is on the line.”

“Stronger Together” centres on a character called The Daughter, encapsulating themes of resilience and unity through evocative lyrics. One notable line reflects this sentiment: “But stronger together / We found we could tackle it / And we could talk about it / And we could cry about it / And we could and we did.” Such lyrics underscore the bond shared between the characters and resonate with the wider struggles many face today.
Amos elaborated on the narrative of the album, stating that it tells the story of her escape from a “sadistic billionaire Lizard Demon husband.” This metaphorical character drives her protagonist to seek solace in the Deep South of America, where she encounters various individuals who have long been absent from her life due to the toxic nature of her previous relationship. Among these characters is The Daughter, with whom she finds both companionship and creative expression.
Reflecting on the single’s significance, Amos described it as an embodiment of her evolving relationship with Tash. The song captures a commitment to stand together against whatever challenges the future may hold, emphasising the importance of support and solidarity.
The familial collaboration does not end with Tash’s vocals. Mark Hawley played a crucial behind-the-scenes role in the recording and mixing of “Stronger Together,” while Tash also received co-writing credit for the track. This teamwork further illustrates the close-knit nature of the family’s artistic endeavours.
To coincide with the album’s release, Amos will embark on a tour starting April 8 in Sheffield, UK, and concluding on November 2 in Seattle. Fans can expect a rich blend of new material alongside classic hits from her extensive discography. Accompanied by longtime collaborator Jon Evans on bass and Earl Harvin on drums, the tour promises to be a showcase of both new and beloved songs.
*In Times of Dragons* marks Amos’s 18th studio album, following her 2025 release, *The Music of Tori and the Muses*. This new project continues her legacy of exploring complex themes through music, starting with her influential debut album, *Little Earthquakes*, which featured memorable tracks such as “Me and a Gun” and “Silent All These Years.”
In addition to her music career, Amos recently ventured into children’s literature with her debut book, *Tori and the Muses*. Reflecting on the experience, she expressed how the project allowed her to break free from the constraints often placed on adult music. “Children allow us and encourage us… to dive into a world that sometimes I feel as grown-ups we need to separate ourselves from,” she remarked. This creativity has given her the freedom to explore whimsical themes that resonate with young audiences.
As Tori Amos prepares for the release of *In Times of Dragons* and its associated tour, her loyal fanbase can anticipate an exciting new chapter in her storied career. By weaving personal experiences and familial ties into her art, she continues to demonstrate her ability to connect with listeners on a profound level.
