A TikTok user, Shay, captured the bizarre encounter on video, showcasing a furry visitor that made an appearance during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in November. Shay described the incident as incredibly amusing, stating, “It was so funny. It brought us so much joy.” The family, consisting of Shay, her wife, and in-laws, were enjoying their vacation in Orlando, Florida, when the peculiar encounter took place. The group was attending Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace, which offered snacks, drinks, and ideal viewing spots for the nighttime fireworks and holiday parade.
Following the fireworks display, instead of immediately leaving like most guests, Shay and her family decided to linger at the terrace to observe the chaos of the departing crowd. Little did they expect that their evening would take an unexpected turn. Shay’s wife drew her attention to an unusual sight on their dining table, which turned out to be a sizeable opossum leisurely feasting on leftover food from the plates.
The video captured the opossum wandering around the terrace, nibbling on scraps left by other guests, and even approaching curious children who tried to get a closer look. Growing up in Georgia, Shay was familiar with opossum behaviour, but this particular one appeared friendly and accustomed to being around people, earning the temporary name “Crinkle” before being dubbed “Lester” by online commenters relating it to a character from a popular movie.
