The Jonas Brothers recently revealed insights into the making of their new holiday movie, “A Very Jonas Christmas,” which premiered on Disney+ on Nov. 14. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the band members discussed their roles in the film and their collaboration with writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Despite playing exaggerated versions of themselves in the movie, they aimed to strike a balance between authenticity and personal boundaries.

During the interview, Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas shared how they worked individually with the writers to ensure a realistic portrayal of their lives while still keeping certain aspects private. Nick emphasised the importance of maintaining authenticity in the film, stating, “We wanted this to feel real and to have authenticity from us in there.” The brothers further elaborated on how the initial script draft reflected their real-life dynamics, which they then fine-tuned to enhance the portrayal of their relationships.

In “A Very Jonas Christmas,” each brother embodies exaggerated stereotypes: Nick as the “uptight, responsible one,” Joe as the “lovable tramp” who forms new romantic connections frequently, and Kevin as “the one who still lives in New Jersey.” While the movie portrays them in a humorous light, the brothers admitted to exercising veto power over certain elements during production. Joe mentioned that they “absolutely” vetoed aspects of the script, highlighting the collaborative and dynamic process of bringing the movie to life.
Aside from their Christmas movie, the Jonas Brothers also found time amidst their busy JONAS20 tour schedule to film “Camp Rock 3,” a highly anticipated sequel to the beloved Disney Channel films. Reflecting on their return to the Camp Rock universe after 15 years, Kevin expressed gratitude for the opportunity and the enduring impact of the original movies. The brothers are excited about reprising their roles as Shane, Nate, and Jason, members of the fictional band Connect 3, although they playfully ponder whether the characters are actually brothers.
The trio’s involvement in creating both “A Very Jonas Christmas” and “Camp Rock 3” showcases their dedication to entertaining fans with nostalgic and new content. Their ability to blend authenticity with humour in their projects reflects their commitment to engaging storytelling. As fans eagerly anticipate the release of these films, the Jonas Brothers continue to captivate audiences with their music, acting, and creative endeavours.
