Renowned actor Kelsey Grammer found himself at the receiving end of some light-hearted teasing on the set of his latest film, “Karen Kingsbury’s The Christmas Ring.” His co-star in the movie, Benjamin Hollingsworth, shared with PEOPLE that he jovially gave Grammer a hard time about having a newborn baby at home. Grammer, who recently welcomed his eighth child, a son named Christopher, reportedly took the banter in good spirits.

As the two actors bonded over fatherhood during the filming of the holiday movie, Hollingsworth, 41, mentioned, “My kids came to set and met Kelsey, and he was very kind to them. We had talks about being a dad, and it’s crazy, but he welcomed his eighth child just this year. So, he’s got a newborn at home. I was giving him lots of crap about that.” Despite the playful teasing, Grammer expressed to PEOPLE that having a new baby has been a fantastic experience, with the whole family being ecstatic.

Grammer shared the happy news of Christopher’s arrival on the Oct. 27th episode of the podcast “Pod Meets World,” hosted by Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong. Christopher is the fourth child of Grammer and his wife Kayte Walsh, joining siblings Faith, 12, Gabriel, 10, and James, 8, as well as Grammer’s children from previous relationships. Reflecting on the past year, Grammer mentioned, “We are closer than we’ve ever been as a family, and I’m proud of that.”
When it comes to holiday traditions, Grammer revealed that his family enjoys a Christmas roast dinner each year, opting for prime rib alongside turkey, chicken, Yorkshire puddings, and mint sauce. The actor also shared that they decorate the Christmas tree early, typically three weeks before Christmas right after Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, Hollingsworth plans to celebrate the festive season with his wife and three kids in Vancouver, enjoying snowy activities such as sledding and hiking with Christmas lights.
In his latest film “The Christmas Ring,” which is currently out, Grammer hopes to convey themes of Christmas spirit, selflessness, and forgiveness. Through heartwarming moments and festive cheer, the movie aims to bring joy and positivity to audiences during the holiday season. This heartwarming tale of family bonds and the magic of Christmas promises to captivate viewers and spread warmth and goodwill.
As Grammer and Hollingsworth continue their respective journeys in the entertainment industry, their camaraderie on set and shared experiences as fathers have brought them closer together. With each new project, they aim to inspire and entertain audiences, leaving a lasting impact that goes beyond the screen.
