Jonathan Scott discusses potential Christmas wedding with Zooey Deschanel

Jonathan Scott, the HGTV star, opens up about the possibility of having a Christmas-themed wedding with his fiancée Zooey Deschanel. The couple, who got engaged in August 2023, are known for their love of the holiday season and go all out with festive decorations at their home in Los Angeles each year. However, according to Scott, a Christmas wedding is “absolutely not” in their plans for one significant reason.
During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Jonathan Scott shared that while he has nothing against holiday-themed weddings, he and Deschanel find the magic of Christmas special because of when it falls in the year. Despite attending his brother J.D. Scott’s “epic” Halloween wedding with Deschanel in 2019, the couple has different ideas for their own special day.
Scott explained that they have a lot of ideas for their wedding but have not yet decided on a location. With their busy schedules, including the demands of their children’s social lives, planning a wedding has taken a back seat. Zooey Deschanel shares two children, Elsie Otter, 10, and Charlie Wolf, 8, with her ex-husband, Jacob Pechenik.
Although a Christmas wedding may not be on the horizon for Scott and Deschanel, the couple has expressed how their annual Christmas celebrations feel like a prelude to their upcoming nuptials. Scott previously mentioned that they view their holiday festivities as a “warm-up” for the big celebration they have yet to plan.
Despite being engaged for over two years, the couple has not made any concrete plans for their wedding as they have been enjoying traveling with their children and filming their show. Scott emphasised that when they do eventually tie the knot, they want the celebration to be meaningful, intimate, and involve their closest friends and family members.

As the duo continue to prioritize their family life, they look forward to eventually organising a memorable and heartfelt wedding celebration.
