Vincent Hickerson was in for a surprise when the search for a nanny led to the hiring of a strikingly attractive male manny. In a recent Instagram post, Hickerson, also known as Bigg Vinny the Overall Entertainer, shared snapshots of his wife alongside their shirtless manny, AJ Gatio, displaying his defined abs. The light-hearted caption read, “I mentioned to my wife that I wanted a hot nanny for the kids. This is how it all played out!!!” Hickerson, a singer himself, also included a video clip of Gatio engaging with their children in a sleeveless tank top. He humorously reminisced, “Be careful what you wish for!! lol a little throwback to when @ajgatio was our #MANNY during the #pandemic @goforthwellness.”
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Hickerson revealed that Gatio was brought on board not for his looks, but due to the family’s struggles during the COVID-19 crisis, needing assistance with their children. Hickerson elaborated, “In the midst of COVID, my wife was pregnant, and we owned a small gym in Franklin, Tennessee. After the mandatory shutdown, when my wife required help caring for our 2½-year-old son, I was occupied running the gym and training clients daily.” Despite initial attempts with female nannies falling through, Hickerson approached his friend Gatio, a former first-grade teacher and now a musician, who readily agreed to step in, given the pandemic had caused cancellations in his music engagements.
Gatio began assisting the family five days a week, ensuring their child had fun outdoors playing imaginary games and exploring nature. Hickerson praised Gatio’s ability to maintain an inclusive environment for their son, particularly when Hickerson’s wife faced health challenges during her pregnancy. He shared, “[Gatio] would share meals with us, and we would work out together during my son’s nap times or when my wife wanted some mother-son moments.” Despite Gatio’s undeniable attractiveness, Hickerson expressed unwavering trust in his wife and admiration for Gatio’s dedication to safeguarding their family’s welfare.
While Gatio occasionally continues to support the family as a nanny, he has recently embraced fatherhood himself and is focusing on advancing his music career. Hickerson highlighted the flexibility they maintain in balancing Gatio’s involvement with their family responsibilities. Recalling a recent instance where their childcare plans fell through, Hickerson fondly remembered Gatio stepping in and spending quality time with their children over a weekend while Hickerson and his wife were occupied with work commitments.
