Body of 7-Year-Old Girl Identified After Being Swept Away with Her Dad

In a tragic turn of events, the body of a 7-year-old girl who was swept out to sea with her father has been identified. The incident occurred at Garrapata State Park in California, where California State Park lifeguards launched a search operation after the girl was swept away by a large wave on Nov. 14. The victim has been identified as Anzi Hu from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, while her father, Yuji Hu, also lost his life in the attempt to save his daughter, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by MCSO Chief Deputy Eric Bixler, who described the incident as a touching and devastating story that deeply affected everyone involved in the search and recovery efforts. Anzi Hu’s body was recovered three days after the incident by a private diver from Stockton, Juan Heredia, who runs the Angels Recovery Dive Team.
