The 2026 Grammy nominations were revealed by the Recording Academy on Friday, November 7th. The highly anticipated list of nominees for the 68th Grammy Awards, set to be held once again in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena on February 1, 2026, was announced with much excitement. Past Grammy winners such as Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Lizzo, Chappell Roan, and Sam Smith graced the event, where they helped unveil the nominees for the forthcoming awards show during a special livestream on Grammy.com.
In an effort to keep the awards show fresh and reflective of the evolving music landscape, the Grammys introduced two new categories this year: Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country Album. Additionally, the category previously known as Best Country Album has been rebranded as Best Contemporary Country Album. The Recording Academy’s CEO, Harvey Mason Jr., shared his thoughts on the changes, highlighting the importance of continuously refining the rules to celebrate the creative community in a more meaningful way.

Notable artists who released albums within the eligibility window of August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025, have made their mark on the nominations list. However, some big names like Taylor Swift and Lily Allen are notably absent this year as their projects were released after the eligibility period had closed. The voting process for the 2026 winners will take place between December 12, 2025, and January 5, 2026, where Recording Academy members will cast their votes.
The list of nominations covers a wide range of categories, including Best New Artist, Producer of the Year (Non-Classical), Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical), Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Rock Album, Best Metal Performance, Best Rap Album, and Best R&B Album. With artists like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Tyler, The Creator, and many more receiving nods in various categories, the competition is fierce and promises to deliver an exciting show come February.
Despite the absence of some familiar names, the 2026 Grammy nominations showcase a diverse mix of talent across different genres and styles. The recognition of emerging artists alongside established musicians demonstrates the Grammys’ commitment to honouring all contributors to the music industry. As fans eagerly await the final results, the stage is set for a memorable night celebrating music’s biggest stars and shining a spotlight on the best of the best in the industry.
Stay tuned for more updates as the countdown to the 68th Grammy Awards begins, and anticipation builds for the announcement of the winners. With such a dynamic array of nominees vying for the prestigious accolades, music enthusiasts around the world are in for a treat as the Grammys prepare to showcase the talent and creativity that continue to define the industry.
