Dad of 3 Dies After Being Electrocuted While Helping Farmer Who Struck Power Lines

A tragic incident occurred in northern Illinois resulting in the death of a 42-year-old father of three, Dante Rico Cruz, who was electrocuted while attempting to aid a farmer whose equipment had struck overhead power lines. Tragically, the chute attached to the grain cart struck the overhead power lines, causing them to collapse. Upon the lines hitting the tractor, a man from Woodstock, who was operating the semi-truck, attempted to approach the tractor and was subsequently electrocuted, resulting in his unfortunate demise at the scene.
