Former ‘The Bachelor’ contestant, Liz Sandoz Presta, recently took to Instagram to share her appalling experience on an Air Canada flight where she was allegedly made to sit in a seat soiled with someone else’s vomit. The incident has sparked outrage among passengers and raised concerns about the airline’s cleanliness standards.

In her detailed post on October 16, Sandoz Presta described the seat as “gross,” with visible remnants of vomit, including “chunks of food on the remote control [and] sprayed on the wall.” Despite raising the issue with a flight attendant, she was reportedly told that no other seats were available, leaving her with no choice but to endure an uncomfortable eight-hour flight.
According to Sandoz Presta, she was even handed a biohazard kit to clean up the mess herself, a request she found utterly unacceptable. The situation left her feeling uneasy throughout the journey, unable to sleep or even touch anything in her vicinity. Upon landing, she had to purchase new clothing as her original outfit was ruined.
Air Canada has faced similar accusations before, with reports of passengers being forced to sit in unsanitary conditions. In August 2023, the airline issued an apology to passengers who refused to sit in vomit-soiled seats. Despite promises to address the issue internally, concerns persist regarding the airline’s handling of such incidents.
Sandoz Presta expressed her disappointment in Air Canada’s response to her complaint, highlighting the lack of a meaningful apology or accountability for their actions. She emphasised that no passenger should be subjected to such conditions, urging the airline to improve their standards and adhere to regulations that protect passengers’ rights.
The incident has reignited the debate on airline cleanliness and passenger comfort, with many sharing their own unpleasant experiences while travelling. The lack of adequate responses from airlines in such situations raises questions about the overall customer service and safety protocols in place.
As a prominent figure with a platform to reach a wide audience, Sandoz Presta’s testimony has drawn attention to the importance of upholding hygiene standards in the airline industry. Her decision to speak out against the negligence she experienced serves as a reminder for airlines to prioritise passenger well-being and maintain high standards of cleanliness on board.
In the aftermath of this incident, passengers and advocates are calling on Air Canada to take concrete steps to prevent similar occurrences in the future. With a growing emphasis on customer experience and safety, airlines are under pressure to address concerns promptly and ensure that passengers are treated with respect and consideration throughout their travels.
