Popular Anthrax drummer, Charlie Benante, and renowned singer Carla Harvey recently exchanged vows in a one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony that took place at The Secret Garden in Las Vegas. The wedding, which had a unique ’50s horror movie theme with a rock and roll twist, was an elegant affair attended by over 200 guests, including members of bands like Kiss, Pantera, Mötley Crüe, and Nickelback. The ceremony was officiated by Gene Simmons of Kiss fame, adding a special touch to the rockstar-filled event.

The couple had originally planned for an intimate gathering with close friends and family but as word spread, the guest list expanded, turning the wedding into a grand celebration. Describing the vibe of the ceremony as a blend of elegance and rock and roll, Charlie Benante shared that the choice to have the wedding in Las Vegas was an easy one due to the city’s vibrant and entertaining atmosphere. The couple wanted their guests to have a great time, drawing inspiration from the Rat Pack parties that were once held at the venue in the 1960s.

The wedding featured various elements that reflected the couple’s personalities and interests, including an Elvis Presley impersonator, showgirls, live music, and a jam session with talented musicians in attendance. The space was decorated with pinball machines, candles, and a colour palette of black, grey, white, and purple, paying homage to Benante’s mother, who had a fondness for the colour purple. The couple’s attention to detail and personal touches made the event truly memorable for all in attendance.
The bride, Carla Harvey, made a stunning entrance in a floral lace mermaid gown, accompanied by the sweet melodies of Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain.” She later changed into a glamorous dress for the reception festivities. The newlyweds shared their first dance to U2’s “All I Want Is You,” a song that held special significance to them, as it was playing when Benante proposed during a U2 concert in Las Vegas.
The wedding reception featured a delectable feast that included filet mignon, fish, and pasta, served family style. The highlight of the dessert menu was a four-tier vegan wedding cake, followed by late-night snacks from a food truck offering Elvis-inspired peanut butter and banana sandwiches, burgers, and fries. Guests were also treated to custom-made Bride of Frankenstein dolls as unique party favors, adding a touch of whimsy to the celebrations.
As the festivities concluded, the couple expressed their gratitude to everyone who had joined them in celebrating their special day. While they currently have no honeymoon plans, they look forward to unwinding in a serene and relaxing destination once their upcoming music projects are completed. With a shared love for music and a deep connection, Charlie Benante and Carla Harvey’s wedding was an unforgettable event that perfectly captured their unique bond and rockstar spirit.
