Larry Bagby, known for his role in the cult classic ‘Hocus Pocus’, recently exchanged vows with Veronique Dumont in a mesmerising ceremony held in Salem, Massachusetts. The couple’s nuptials were a true reflection of the film’s magical essence, complete with a black flame candle, an evil spell book, and even an appearance by the iconic Sanderson sisters.
Bagby, 51, who portrayed the teenage bully Ernie (Ice) in the 1993 Disney movie, shared a special connection with Dumont, 40, who hails from Montreal, Quebec. Their love story began in a Hocus Pocus Facebook group in October 2022, leading to a romantic engagement just four months later in February 2023.
The intimate wedding took place on October 5 at The Pickering House, the oldest house in Salem, where about 25 guests gathered to witness the union. Among the attendees were some of Bagby’s former Hocus Pocus co-stars, adding a touch of nostalgia to the enchanting affair. Fans were also able to participate virtually through Zoom, as part of a special Halloween event organised by the cast.
The wedding ceremony, steeped in whimsical elements, featured unique touches that paid homage to the film. From the presence of characters like the Sanderson sisters to quirky decorations like cages symbolising key moments from the movie, every detail was thoughtfully crafted to create a magical ambiance for the couple’s special day.
Brian Sims, a prominent Salem performer, officiated the ceremony, infusing it with his own brand of enchantment and theatrical flair. The couple’s vows, inspired by the spell book from Hocus Pocus, added an extra layer of charm to the proceedings, making it a truly unforgettable experience for all in attendance.
