Clea Shearer, a prominent figure as the co-founder of The Home Edit, recently shared the heartfelt words of support she received from Hoda Kotb at the onset of her battle with breast cancer. She disclosed that Kotb was one of the first individuals she confided in after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. During an appearance on Today, Shearer opened up to Savannah Guthrie about her arduous health struggle that coincided with the release of her memoir, “Cancer Is Complicated.” Diagnosed with stage 2 invasive mammary carcinoma, an aggressive form of breast cancer, in March 2022, Shearer underwent several rounds of chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and six surgeries, including a double mastectomy and removal of her ovaries. After months of fighting, she was declared cancer-free in November 2022.

However, the journey was far from over for Shearer. In November 2024, she believed she had completed her seventh and final surgery but was met with setbacks in January when complications arose. Despite the challenges, Shearer highlighted her current health status, affirming that she is on the path to recovery. She emphasised the importance of being cancer-free and the resilience that sustained her through the difficult times.
