In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Taylor and Garrett revealed that they purchased a brick duplex in Washington D.C. this spring, with plans to live upstairs and Airbnb the downstairs unit. When it came to furnishing their new home, the couple turned to furniture brand Ashley for help in creating a sophisticated yet cozy space that showcases their individual tastes and memories from Love Is Blind.

For Taylor and Garrett, this was their first time creating a space together from scratch. Taylor shared, “I moved into his house shortly after we got married, and so it’s been cool to build a new place that’s just for us.” The couple found that they had a lot of overlapping styles, but whenever there was a gap, the Ashley team was able to provide pieces that suited their vision perfectly.
The result of their collaboration with Ashley is a modern yet rustic feel throughout their home. The living room features a white corduroy sectional adorned with beige plaid and mustard pillows, all set against a ribbed umber wood console. According to Taylor, the couch holds special significance as it represents the compromises and surprises that come with being a couple.
However, it’s not just the living room that tells their love story. The couple transformed their bookshelves into a reading nook, complete with a wingback bouclé chair, a geometric side table, and a curved lamp. These shelves house sweet tributes to their time on Love Is Blind, including wedding mementoes and letters exchanged between the two.
The design process of their home not only showcased their seamless teamwork but also highlighted their growth as a couple since appearing on the reality show. Garrett mentioned, “The process with Ashley of designing the home really reflected that there’s never a moment I felt like there was any sort of real disagreement where we diverged on opinions about a particular piece in the space.”
Taylor added, “When you have two people that are bringing two different lives together, it’s a process. But that doesn’t have to necessarily mean that it’s a bad thing. And we both wanted to create a space that was warm and welcoming and we could share with other people.”
The couple applied the same attention to detail to the downstairs unit of their duplex, which they currently rent out on Airbnb. They aimed to provide a luxurious experience for guests by incorporating D.C. elements and creating a space that stands out. Taylor and Garrett even shared a humorous anecdote of being recognized by one of their guests, showcasing the impact of their newfound fame post Love Is Blind.
Despite the whirlwind of fame that followed their appearance on the show, Taylor and Garrett have found comfort in each other and their shared experiences with other Love Is Blind contestants. They both acknowledge the opportunities that have come their way as a result of the show, with Taylor even transitioning to content creation full-time after her work in environmental policy was affected.
As Taylor and Garrett continue to grow as a couple, their home serves as a testament to their love and shared journey. From sentimental bookshelves to carefully curated rooms, every corner of their Washington D.C. residence reflects the love and commitment they have for each other.
