The canine’s repeated findings have turned a serene neighbourhood in Jefferson County, Ala. into the central focus of a chilling homicide investigation. On August 9, deputies were called to the Center Point area after Chicarin’s owner reported that the 2-year-old dog had once again brought home what seemed to be a portion of a human skeleton. The recovered remains were swiftly sent to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office for further examination.

In December of the same year, Chicarin appeared with a human tibia, and in April 2025, she was found with a femur in the yard. A search of the property also led to the discovery of a human mandible, all linking back to the initial find. Investigations are underway to determine if the remains discovered on August 9 are also connected to the same victim. Authorities have taken the unusual step of placing a tracking device on Chicarin to trace the origin of the bones she’s been unearthing.
