This led to a situation where her husband’s mother “huffed and started grumbling about how dramatic I am, and how possessive I am of ‘her baby.'” Tensions mounted further when the woman’s husband stepped in, resulting in a “2-3 hour argument” during which his mother accused the woman of ‘trying to ruin their relationship.’ Getty Images / Blend Images Related Stories Woman Disregards Daughter-in-Law’s Dietary Restrictions, Plays the Victim When She Brings Her Own Food Woman’s Mother-in-Law Announces Labour on Social Media Before the New Mother Can Even Inform Her Friends Quoting from the post: “Husband responds that if she really wanted to take pictures of the baby, all she had to do was ask for help so he or I could cover the baby’s face, MIL and FIL argue that they shouldn’t have to ask permission, they’re grown adults and can do as they please in their own house. Husband reminds them that it is our baby, not theirs, and since they felt so strongly, that is why I removed myself from the situation, and if they wanted to see my baby, they could do it at our house, where they’ll have to follow our rules.” The situation worsened as the husband’s mother proceeded to share the unauthorized photos she had taken of the baby on Facebook. Consequently, the couple has opted to cease their annual visits to his family.
