Bryce Drummond, the son of the famous Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond, has recently faced a setback in his legal battle to reinstate his driver’s license. Court documents obtained by PEOPLE reveal that the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals upheld the revocation of the 22-year-old’s license on August 1. This decision comes after Bryce’s license was temporarily revoked by Service Oklahoma following his arrest by Stillwater police in May 2024 for suspected intoxication while in control of a vehicle.

The incident unfolded when an officer responded to reports of disturbance in Stillwater, Oklahoma, at around 3:00 a.m. Neighbors claimed a group of intoxicated men were causing a commotion and driving recklessly. The officer later found a Ford F-150 with its lights on, and identified the driver as Bryce Drummond. The officer stated that Bryce exhibited signs of intoxication, leading to the conclusion that he was in control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Despite a misdemeanor charge being dismissed by a Payne County judge in April, the arrest triggered a civil action resulting in Bryce’s driving privileges being revoked for 180 days. According to The Oklahoman, Bryce was allowed to drive his personal vehicle with an interlock device that requires a clean breath sample before operation and drive an employer’s vehicle without the device.
In his appeal against the license revocation, Bryce argued that the officer’s entry onto his driveway without a warrant violated his Fourth Amendment rights, rendering his arrest and license revocation invalid. However, on August 1, judge Thomas E. Prince ruled in favour of upholding the license revocation, stating that the officer’s entry was lawful. Bryce’s attorney, Ky Corley, expressed intentions to escalate the case to the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
Bryce, a former football player at Oklahoma State University, is the eldest son of Ree and Ladd Drummond, known for their popular food and lifestyle brand. Apart from Bryce, the Drummond family comprises Alex, Paige, and Todd. PEOPLE reached out to Ree Drummond’s representative for a response but has not received a reply as of now.
The legal battle surrounding Bryce Drummond’s driver’s license serves as a reminder of the consequences individuals face for driving under the influence. Despite his family’s fame and success, the situation highlights the importance of abiding by road safety regulations and the legal repercussions of not doing so.
The court’s decision not only affects Bryce personally but also sheds light on the responsibility that comes with the privilege of holding a driver’s license. As the case progresses to higher judicial authorities, the outcome will have implications beyond the Drummond family, setting a precedent for similar legal disputes in the future.
The attention drawn to Bryce Drummond’s legal troubles prompts discussions on accountability and the legal system’s handling of cases involving public figures. The public awaits further developments in this saga, anticipating how the legal proceedings will unfold and whether Bryce will succeed in regaining his driving privileges.
In the midst of this legal ordeal, Ree Drummond continues to maintain her renowned presence in the culinary and lifestyle realms, showcasing resilience in navigating personal challenges amid the spotlight. The Drummond family’s journey serves as a reminder of the complexities faced by individuals, regardless of their public standing, and reinforces the importance of upholding legal and moral standards in all circumstances.
