Popular artist Liz Lee, best known for her appearance on the 2010 MTV series ‘My Life as Liz’, is on a journey towards closure and reconnection. The 34-year-old artist recently took to TikTok to reflect on her reality TV experience and has since reconnected with some of her former classmates from the show, including her one-time rival Cori Cooper. Lee shared on social media, “I cannot relay to you guys how healing this has been. Without all of this renewed interest, I wouldn’t have found her TikTok, where she started making TikToks about her experience. And it seems pretty awful, what she went through.”

Lee reached out to Cooper by “sliding into her DMs,” and the two had a heartfelt conversation, leading to the resolution of past misunderstandings. Cooper also took to TikTok to share her side of the story, revealing that she did not anticipate being portrayed as a “villain” on the show. She explained, “It was very staged. It’s not necessarily, it wasn’t scripted, but I was told, ‘Hey, say this,’ ‘Hey, do that,’ ‘Hey, be meaner.’ It was just a lot of weird situations to be put in as a child by an adult.”

Cooper, who was 18 at the time of filming, emphasized that she did not see the final cut of the show until it aired and was taken aback by her portrayal. She expressed that the show was presented in a very one-sided manner and that a lot of footage she filmed was edited out. In response to criticism about her behaviour on the show, Cooper clarified, “I actually never said that I didn’t own it. I never said that I wasn’t a bully. I just said that it wasn’t… the show was very one-sided.”
Reflecting on her growth since the show, Cooper shared that she has learned from the experience and does not believe she deserves the backlash she has received. Meanwhile, Liz Lee has been planning an online reunion with her former classmates from ‘My Life as Liz’, referring to them as ‘the nerd herd’. In a recent video, she announced that members of the nerd herd, including Sully, Troy, Zona, and Miles, will be joining her for live commentary on the show on Twitch.
The upcoming pseudo-cast reunion is set to take place in the near future, with Lee also working on convincing Taylor Terry to participate. Even Cori Cooper has expressed her willingness to be part of the reunion, showcasing a significant step towards reconciliation and closure for the former cast members. As fans eagerly await the reunion, the heartfelt conversations and connections being made between Lee and her former classmates continue to highlight the impact of reality TV experiences on individuals’ lives.
The journey of Liz Lee and Cori Cooper serves as a reminder of the complexities that lie behind the scenes of reality television, shedding light on the psychological effects and unexpected consequences that participants may face. As the former cast members navigate through their past experiences and work towards healing and understanding, their story resonates with viewers and fans alike, showcasing the power of forgiveness and reconciliation in the face of shared memories and challenges.
