Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber recently shared a candid behind-the-scenes moment from ’90s Con that fans were not privy to witness. The pair, best known for their roles in the sitcom Full House, were preparing to meet the press and fans when an unexpected incident occurred, locking them inside a bathroom.
During an episode of their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos!, the duo relived the mishap that unfolded at the convention. Sweetin recounted how she inadvertently ripped the handle off the bathroom door while they were getting ready. This comical turn of events mirrored a scene from a Full House episode where a similar scenario played out.

Barber humorously remarked on Sweetin’s unintentional replication of a classic Full House moment, saying, “This was a Full House episode. We recreated it without even meaning to.” The two found themselves trapped inside the bathroom, unable to escape until someone rescued them. Sweetin and Barber had to await assistance while missing out on their scheduled press appearances.
Reflecting on the incident, Sweetin quipped, “We were banging on the door from the inside. This was a Full House episode. We recreated it without even meaning to.” The duo realised the irony of their predicament, as they were meant to be participating in a press line at that very moment.

Fortunately, a staff member eventually located Sweetin and Barber and facilitated their release from the bathroom. Sweetin, feeling sheepish about the mishap, handed the detached door handle to the staff member, acknowledging the awkwardness of the situation. Barber playfully commented, “So awkward — so on brand for you, Jodie Sweetin.”
Sweetin also shared a similar incident from the set of a Lifetime movie she had worked on, highlighting the hilarity of her recurring door-handle mishaps. Both Sweetin and Barber, who starred in Full House and its sequel Fuller House, have expressed openness to another revival in the future, albeit after some time has passed.
The pair hinted at the possibility of a revival that caters to a more mature audience, envisioning a humorous and light-hearted series akin to Golden Girls. Speculating about the potential revival, Sweetin mused, “Give us another 15 years or whatever.” Sweetin, Barber, and Candace Cameron Bure, who portrayed D.J. in the series, teased the idea of reprising their iconic roles in a new, adult-themed sitcom.
As fans eagerly anticipate the potential return of their beloved characters, Sweetin and Barber’s podcast offers glimpses into their off-screen camaraderie and shared experiences. The duo’s escapades at ’90s Con serve as a reminder of the enduring bond between cast members and the enduring popularity of the beloved sitcom.
For fans of Full House and Fuller House, the prospect of a future revival holds promise for a reunion that pays homage to the beloved characters and revisits the iconic moments that endeared the series to audiences of all ages. Sweetin and Barber’s recent revelation adds a humorous twist to their convention experience, showcasing their enduring friendship and penchant for comedic mishaps.
