Kelly Osbourne recently got engaged to Sid Wilson, who popped the question during her dad Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert with Black Sabbath on July 5th. To mark the occasion, Wilson collaborated with luxury jewellery brand Mouawad to design a custom engagement ring for Osbourne. Detailing the process in a video shared on Instagram, Wilson revealed the surprising celebrity who inspired the unique design of the ring.
In the video, Wilson discussed his vision for the ring with Pascal Mouawad, expressing his desire for it to be a special and unique piece that held sentimental value. Wilson shared that he affectionately called Osbourne “Honeybee,” a nickname that coincidentally was also used by the late comedian Joan Rivers, who had worked with Osbourne on the show Fashion Police. The unique nickname stemmed from Osbourne’s vibrant and positive energy, likened to that of a busy bee spreading good vibes.
Inspired by the nickname and Osbourne’s energetic personality, Wilson wanted the ring to reflect this sentiment by incorporating elements like honeybees, pollen, and diamonds. The bespoke ring, set in 18K yellow gold, featured white and yellow diamonds, citrine accents, and a brilliant round white diamond at its centre symbolising enduring love. The design aimed to capture the essence of Osbourne’s personality and their relationship in a beautiful and unique way.
The moment Wilson laid eyes on the finished ring, his excitement was palpable as he described it as “blinding” and “sparkling.” Overwhelmed with joy, Wilson expressed his belief that Osbourne would love the ring, deeming it more than perfect and likening it to a fairy tale. Despite the challenge of keeping the proposal a secret for a few more days, Wilson was eager to present the stunning ring to Osbourne during the concert.
During the concert, in the presence of family and friends, Wilson got down on one knee and asked Osbourne to marry him, professing his love and desire to spend the rest of his life with her.
